Streaming music service
Rdio, currently being trumped in North America by
Spotify, probably needs to incentive its partners more, especially given the complains from labels and artists about the low monetization available on Spotify. Thus today it's introducing the 'Rdio Artist Program' which they say is the first of a kind program offers a new way for artists to directly earn money from streaming music. The idea is that artists can share their own music and their music recommendations with fans, earning $10 for each new subscriber they attract to Rdio through social sharing. This incentivises artists to pull their fans into the service of course.
