Bath Rugby kept their play-off hopes alive with a thrilling 31-25 victory over West Country rivals Gloucester Rubgy at the Recreation Ground on Friday.
Bath fly-half Tom Heathcote was stunning throughout has he kicked four penalties and converted two.
He navigated the uprights after just two minutes to open the scoring before converting a penalty try two minutes later.
Gloucester proved their eagerness for a top four finish when Henry Trinder crossed after 11, but the conversion failed and the visitors were unsettled.
Winger Jonny May made it two in the 23rd minute, and this time Freddie Burns? boot worked, but Kyle Eastmond converted effort cancelled the advantage.
Two further tries apiece in the second half kept the enthralling contest alive throughout, but Heathcote?s keen eye and tight laces enlightened the Rec.
Bath?s win moves them five points clear on Exeter Chiefs in eighth while Gloucester?s bonus point puts them level with London Wasps, who also earned a BP on 46.
