Wells Fargo made a $35 million pledge today to support military service members and veterans over the next three years. The funds were committed to:
Real estate owned (REO) property donations.
Support valued at $30 million to qualifying nonprofits that serve military members and veterans.
Hiring and mentoring initiatives.
Customized financial education.
John Campbell, of Wells Fargo?s community and government relations, said in a statement issued Thursday, Nov. 8, that the over-arching mission of Wells Fargo ? to help customers succeed financially ? holds especially true for the men and women who serve our country through the armed services.
Besides the program to help military service members and veterans transition to civilian careers and obtain financial education to achieve home ownership, Wells Fargo set up a donation campaign for its customers.
From Nov. 14-30, donations can be made at Wells Fargo ATM machines to show support to military service members and veterans. No ATM fee will be charged; 100 percent of the pledge will go to the USO, National Military Family Association and Homes for Our Troops.
